Back on the field

Fall is approaching in Missoula and The University of Montana Men’s Lacrosse Team is back on the field preparing for fall and spring competition.
The Grizzlies, who finished the 2009 spring season at 6-7, look young and fast for 2010 and poised to benefit from its largest incoming recruiting class in the program’s history with a number of standout newcomers already making waves in the team’s first week of fall practice. Donning Griz Maroon for the first time were players hailing from New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Minnesota, Illinois, Oregon and Washington. Included in the class are three players from 2009 New Hampshire Division 1 State Champion Hanover High School and two from Bainbridge Island, WA - continuing strong Grizzly Lacrosse traditions on either side of the country.
The team’s new additions will join a strong returning core of sophomores and juniors including midfielders Dylan Ward, Billy Brengle, Henry Burchenal and Kent Davis as well as junior goalie Ty Hall. The Griz will look to finalize and eventually post their spring roster throughout their fall campaign, which will see the team in action against a number of PNCLL and out of conference opponents in their annual Fall Shootout which takes place in Missoula Oct. 3 - 4.
