MISSOULA - The University of Montana Men’s Lacrosse Team split a pair of conference match-ups this weekend, improving their season record to 2-7.

On Saturday, Montana faced-off against the 5-5 University of Washington Huskies. Coming out strong, the Griz lead Washington early, finishing the 1st quarter 3-3. The Huskies took the momentum, shutting Montana out for the remainder of the 1st half. The Griz played slow until a 4th quarter run brought them to within four goals, but it was too little too late as the Huskies held on to win it, 14-10. GO TO PHOTO GALLERY

On Sunday, the Griz hosted Boise State University (1-7), hoping to revenge last season’s one-goal-loss. The Broncos went tit-for-tat with Montana for much of the game, staying within one or two goals. The Griz played a strong fourth quarter, dominating possession and holding back a late Bronco surge, to take home a well-deserved 8-7 victory. GO TO PHOTO GALLERY

The Griz close out the 2010 regular season with a home game against Simon Fraser University (5-6) next Friday at Dornblaser field.
