In a close match in Missoula, the Griz narrowly lost to #4 Utah Valley State College, 16-13. Hanging tough throughout most of the game, Montana held UVSC scoreless in the first quarter, with Mike Sledd breaking the seal to put Montana up 1-0. UVSC found their stride in the second, with both teams trading shots to bring the halftime score to 5-4, UVSC. In the third quarter, UVSC came out strong. Montana had an early goal to tie the game at 6, but the Wolverines found the momentum outscoring the Griz 7-3 in the third. Montana came back in the fourth outscoring UVSC 5-3 but it wasn’t quite enough to seal the win. Leading scorers included: Hall with 2 goals, Ault with 2 goals and Cameron with 2 goals.
