Griz defeat Gonzaga
MISSOULA, MT - The University of Montana Lacrosse team defeated Gonzaga University, 13-9, Saturday afternoon in the squad’s MCLA Div. I debut.
The Griz’ victory was spearheaded by a trio of hat-trick performances by team captains Townsend Hall and Sam Cameron and Grizzly FOS Tucker Sargent. Hall and Cameron also put up a combined four assists (two each).
Also scoring for the Grizzlies Saturday were Pat Small (2 assists), CJ Bohnen and team captain Zander Ault (each contributing one goal). Willy Delius and freshman Kent Davis are each credited with an assist. Gilbert Thompson and Colin Connery split time in the goal, combining for 17 saves.
After letting a 5-1 halftime advantage slip to a 9-8 deficit in the fourth quarter, Montana finsihed strong scoring five unanswered goals to comeback and finalize the victory.
