Flynn Returns To Head Up Griz Coach Staff

Friday 21 September 2007

Flynn1The University of Montana Men’s Lacrosse Team is pleased to announce the hiring of their 2007-2008 coaching staff. Filling the role of Head Coach will be 2005 PNCLL Coach of the Year Kevin Flynn. Flynn has filled a number of roles for the Griz in his six years with the program, having been a player, president, captain and coach at different times during that span. Now out of playing eligibility, he will be focusing exclusively on running things from the sideline.

Assisting Kevin will be Philip Rohlfing, who coached the Griz to their MCLA-B National Championship last season. A former goalkeeper for the University of Florida Gators, Rohlfing will continue his studies at the University of Montana Law School this year.

New to the Griz coaching staff will be assistant coach Ryan Small. The Griz look to benefit from Small’s extensive on and off field experience in the sport as a collegiate and professional player. After playing college ball at Maryland and Loyola, Small was drafted by the Rochester Rattlers (MLL) in 2006. Small, an attackman, will look to bring more offensive discipline to the Griz this season.
