MISSOULA – Griz Lacrosse is pleased to announce the naming of the team’s 2011-2012 captains, as well as the squad’s upcoming fall scrimmage against the Bobcats of Montana State in Missoula at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Dornblazer fields. Leading the Griz against the rival Cats will be returning senior captain and 2011 season MVP Kent Davis, who will be accompanied by two juniors in their first game as captain. Junior defenseman Chuck Forsyth and junior midfielder Henry Bishop will join Davis in leading the Griz in the remainder of their fall campaign and into their 2012 spring season.
The Griz will look to continue their winning streak against the Bobcats after besting them by the score of 18-3 in the teams’ last meeting in March. Montana has faired well in their preseason contests thus far this fall, but will be looking for improvements in their face-off and transition play this weekend.
The game is free to students with a Griz Card, and the team is asking $5 from the general public to help raise funds for the team’s planned trip to Eugene for the University of Oregon’s fall tournament this November. Concessions will be available, and tailgating is encouraged in the Dornblazer fields parking lot before the 1:00 opening faceoff.
