The Griz Lacrosse team has just wrapped up one of the most successful and exciting fall ball seasons in recent years. The Griz added about 15 new freshman this season and are looking at a roster of around 30 players.
The Griz went undefeated this fall beating University of Great Falls, a first year program 19-16 in a high scoring shootout that saw every player see a lot of action, for many it was their first college ball. It was a fun game in Great Falls, MT and the first ever lacrosse game played there. UGF was a great host and had a strong fan turnout.
The Griz's second fall contest was the annual Montana Lacrosse Shootout, a six team tournament hosted at home. In attendance were UGF, Montana State, University of Idaho, Gonzaga, a men's team and Montana. The Griz won every game of the tournament and took home the trophy for the second straight year.
Unfortunately the last contest of this fall was cancelled due to the visiting teams coach wife being in the hospital. The Griz were scheduled to play Calgary. However, the boys practiced hard and have made solid strides going into the winter "off season".
The Griz are now doing team workouts three times a week and playing weekly indoor lacrosse to stay sharp before the spring season.
